Mississippi Mud River Island

Hi!  It's Sheppy again.  I'm loving this vacation!
We went to Mud River Island in Memphis and had a great time.
We rode a tram to an island in the middle of the Mississippi River.
There we spent several hours walking the length of the to scale model of the Mississippi River.
The weather was amazingly hot and the kids (and adults) were thrilled to be able to wade in the river.
The kids enjoyed looking at the contour lines and estimating how deep the river was at various points.
Andrew especially enjoyed this activity.
Here is Elizabeth straddling the river.
Nathan wading in the river....
and standing on an island in the river.
Elizabeth posing for the camera.
The kids helping Nathan across the bridges.
Lovely cooperation for picture taking!
We all loved watching all the barges and tugs on the River.
We later got to drive over the bridge and into Arkansas.
Next stop - Texarkana!
